Penpals from Switzerland! We’ve got mail! Year 6 children were excited to receive letters and cards from schoolchildren in Hombrechtikon, Switzerland! In December, Year 6 teachers were contacted by a former
exchange student, Basil Senn, who suggested this writing opportunity between 2 schools. Year 6 pupils were amazed at how good the letters were, as English is not the Swiss students’ first language. Our students are looking forward to writing their replies and sending their letters back to Switzerland.

Dakota: Today we got to read letters from people in Switzerland. I read a letter from a girl called Anna. She sounded very nice, and we had a lot in common. I hope Anna enjoys reading my letter.

Deborah: I think this activity is amazing. Receiving letters from people in Switzerland and sending letters back to them is totally amazing. I love their drawings and their pictures!
