World Book Day – 03/03/16
World Book Day 2016 was perhaps the best ever at Flying Bull. Our day started with a whole school photo of all of the staff and children who had dressed as a book character. Some of the other highlights are below:
Key Stage 1 were treated to a very engaging talk by Emily Gravett; author of Meerkat Mail and Monkey and Me. Emily spoke to the children about how she loved being creative and artistic at school and decided she wanted to be an illustrator. Then when her first child was born she read so many books to soothe her that she became hooked on books and then worked to be an author…
Adults and children alike made so much effort to dress up as a book character for the day:
Children worked hard on their World Book Day Tasks and in the afternoon children all took park in the illustration competition. Here are some photos of the children hard at work and the winning entries.
