Careers, Dreams and Aspirations Day – 24/02/16
On Wednesday 24th February The Flying Bull Academy had a whole day focused on‘careers, dreams and aspirations’. The children were encouraged to come dressed up as someone within a profession or trade who has inspired them or a career in which they would want to achieve in their future. We had an array of professions and trades represented by the children from nurses, doctors, plumbers and train drivers to architects, paleontologists and footballers.
In addition to this, we were privileged to have people from various professions visit us throughout the day to talk to the children about what inspired them to follow their chosen career path, the journey to get there and the highlights of their job today. These included the police, solicitors, a plumber, an architect, a paramedic, a dental hygienist and a journalist from The News amongst many more.
The children were captivated by their stories, inspired by their enthusiasm and fueled by their passion!
All in all, the day was a huge success and left our children contemplating their potential futures with a greater clarity and fresh perspective.
